With just about a week left till we have babies, Cloe has had her bath, nails trimmed and her chewbacca feet trimmed...I'm going around picking up clumps of belly fur that she is shedding in preparation for nursing them...Taking temps twice a day now and staying close to home waiting for signs of labor...:)

Cloe still nesting...resting more and moving a lot slower as she is getting bigger and bigger this last week...I was listening to the puppies little heart beats with my stethoscope and feeling them moving all around...Started taking Cloes temp and she is now on her last full week...So I'm sticking close to home 8 more days till D-day so I'm getting all my supplies ready for her whelping... Emma is still too early to tell if she is pregnant yet but watching for signs with her...Still wont know for another couple of weeks... Update on Cloe, she has been digging frequently in her whelping box, and going potty a lot more, I go in there and she looks up at me, so I tell her, "show me your babies" and she'll roll over to show me her belly! too cute...I've been taking her with me to pick up my son in the afternoons so she has a little time out and about...I dont want her overdoing it, so a short car ride makes her day...Will start taking her temps this weekend and the countdown will be on! stay tuned for details... And for ANY POTENTIAL parents, if you are interested you really need to get on a list as soon as you can... Well Cloe has been spending time in Emma's crate to get away from the hustle and business of the everyday living...She is in the nesting stages and last night our son said that she was digging in the crate! I said well, there isnt much room to nest in there! So had my hubby put her whelping box back up and there she has been ever since! :) she is a happy camper now...Wont be long...about two more weeks... Well, we have a litter due the week before Christmas! We have Cloe due after Ace was relentless about her being in heat...With all efforts to wait with her next heat cycle, he had other plans when I left for the grocery store...He was crated and yet was DETERMINED to get to her...NEVER underestimate a male dog wanting to get to the female! Have spoken with the vet, and Cloe was in GREAT health after the last litter and was looked at and is doing fine! Well the puppies are growing, playing, barking and very active! Only a few short more weeks with them and then they are all leaving to go to their new forever homes with their new families...Families have been coming for visits and loving on them, and forming that forever bond! Emma has once again come into season early...So she will be bred and puppies due end of August...Stay tuned for updates on her pregnancy and pictures! :) Getting into a semi regular routine with the puppies...wake up time around 7-8 am and I have their breakfast READY...as I put it in the box, they attack it like it is their last meal... Then I go as fast as I can cleaning the other side of their box...once that side is nice and clean, I move their food breakfast to that side and clean the other side...then all get a sponge bath, box wiped down again, new paper laid down and they play for about 30-45 min. then pass out with their full bellies! Momma Cloe comes in around lunch time (4-5 hrs. later) and will nurse for a while and hang out with them...I let her stay in there until dinner time around 5 or 6 pm and same routine as morning... They get a little dish of water to lap in between but they are still not too interested in water...mommas milk is best... Well, puppies are growing and getting up on their legs now...Have just discovered their litter mates and first taste of puppy mush...Learning to use their little growls and starting to get tiny barks out every once and a while... Cloe is such a good momma, welcoming all the new parents with kisses as they come for their visits...Have some amazing parents AGAIN! So that for me is KEY to all my grandpups to know they are going to the best homes possible! and can feel the love they already have for their new babies! So as my job starts getting more, Cloe's will get less, and she is not enjoying being separated during the puppy mush times...I make her wait till the next feeding time, so her skipped times she lays outside the bedroom door WAITING to go in to feed again...I think its just as hard on me to watch her as it is for her to have to wait... All the puppies have their new homes they will be going to in July... Well the pups are 5 days old...growing like weeds! A couple of them have hit the 1 pound mark! I had one small one (not really a runt) but she lost weight the first day, but is steadily gaining...She is half the size though of the biggest one in the bunch... I had several people back out and picked up a few more along the way...So all the puppies are spoken for except this little sweetie...I have all the puppies new owners name their babies except for this little one... I do not like having any of them unnamed, so since she is 5 days old and has no name, I've decided to name her Sophie! :) If someone snatches her up they are welcome to change it, but for now Sophie it is! Getting ready to start emailing parents a visitation schedule so they can meet their new babies soon...Looks like around Memorial Day weekend...So that should be exciting...If interested in little Sophie, contact me! :) |
